A team of judges consisting of Acta Materialia, Scripta Materialia, and Acta Biomaterialia editors has completed the evaluation of nominees for the above awards. Each year we receive many excellent nominations and selecting the winners is a challenging task. The Acta Materialia, Inc. Hollomon Award for Materials & Society is awarded each year, unless the judges feel no candidate is qualified. The presentation is made at a venue approved by the Acta Materialia Executive Committee.
